Montreal mystery band Jerusalem In My Heart celebrates the release of its debut album with a night at Le National
Crédit: Montreal is in the Veins of local music veteran Radwan Ghazi Moumneh.
Radwan Ghazi Moumneh is the heart and core of the ultra-mysterioso Montreal-based project dubbed Jerusalem in my Heart, a revolving door musical, visual, and performance art flash installation that has shocked and awed and wowed audiences worldwide with its originality, beauty, brashness, and forward thinking mantra.

Formed in 2005 as a side step to Mounmeh’s many projects on the go – as band member of Cursed and Pas Chic Chic among others; a leading light of Lebanese avant-garde music circles as well as one of the owners of, and engineers for, the mythic Hotel2Tango studio – the concept has evolved into a solid core trio that now also features French musician and producer Jérémie Regnier and Chilean visual artist and filmmaker Malena Szlam Salazar.

While past versions of the band featured anyone from Moumneh solo to dozens upon dozens of participants, with literally no two performances alike, today’s version of JIMH fully brings to life its master’s unique visions.

Once swearing to never record the project for fear it would take away from the live experience, Moumneh and his new crew took two years to lay their debut to rest. The result, Mo7it Al-Mo7itm is a scintillating aural experience anchored by Arabic chants and vocalizations that encircle a Middle Eastern musical center whose guts have been reinterpreted synthetically and reconstructed acoustically, psychedelically, and electronically, while treated externally through Salazar’s jaw-dropping photo-filmscapes.

You would be hard-pressed to find a more original sound vision than Jerusalem in my Heart anywhere. Period.
