If you’ve been to Le Marché Mtl, you know that it’s a veritable treasure chest of clothing, accessories, shoes and objects. I dare you to go in and leave empty-handed.
Owner Kafi Dublin opened the boutique five years ago in hopes of creating a New York-esque shopping experience in Montreal. She stocks local designers, buys from independent retailers and ultimately aims to cater to shoppers who start trends – not follow them. She only buys small quantities of each item of clothing she stocks in order to avoid having you leave your house dressed like everybody else.
In addition to being owner of Le Marché Mtl, Dublin also designs an in-house jewellery lined entitled Gamine. However, don’t mistake the native New Yorker for a designer; she says her true joy is shopping and buying.
This Thursday, the boutique will be hosting an opening party in honor of their recent move to St-Denis street. The event, Shopping & Popcorn, will be “girls night” themed and will feature an on-site hairdresser trimming bangs and doing up-dos (you can reward her tip jar for the service), plenty of discounts and, well, popcorn.
To any local fashionistas, this is not an event to be missed. You’ll be able to snag unique pieces at great prices and have your blunt cut bangs perfected while you’re at it.
