Their fourth album since the British foursomes 2000 inception, The Chaos’ deceptively rogue title gives no indication to the listener about the meticulously assembled and most danceable post-punk riffs lurking inside. Still fronted by their distinguishable Mackem accents, this collection of barely-3-minute pub anthems strays from their more alternative musical influences of their past and is definitely the closest to pop The Futureheads have ever sounded. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, pop is good. The bad thing about the album is the excess of repetition, lyrically and musically, often worthy of a hit of the old fast forward button.
