Nuvo Bar and Lounge : Classy clubbing for the masses

If you can get past the velvet ropes and make your way up a short flight of stairs, the friendly staff at Nuvo Bar and Lounge will welcome you into a newly re-designed space that formerly housed Boodah Bar and Tabu Ultra Lounge. Nuvo bills itself as an upscale, “21+” nightclub and the plush VIP booths, dress code and emphasis on bottle service reflect this. The 400-person capacity club features a large, circular-shaped bar conveniently located in the centre of the expansive space. The 60,000 watt sound system is perfectly suited for a club of this size and is quite possibly enhanced by the unique oval shape of the room. While the bar lacks any sort of signature cocktail, you may be willing to forgive them as drink prices are not unreasonable.

For the truly adventurous, Nuvo offers the ultimate in “bottle service experience” by providing seven large booths reserved for parties who order many bottles. If posing for party pics with oversized bottles of vodka is your modus operandi, the VIP booths are to be found right next to the spacious dance floor. The built-in subwoofers will literally rock you out of your seat on Fridays with beats courtesy of Toronto’s DJ Starting From Scratch – who also moonlights as both Usher and Russell Peters’ tour DJ. On Saturdays, local hip-hop heads Kwite Sane, DJ Blaster and MC Rain hold it down.
