Another night, another music-filled evening to be held at Old Port’s Velvet Speakeasy. For the 38th edition of his renowned Soirée Risquée, Vincent Lemieux welcomes techno veteran Bruno Pronsato for a promising set that will keep the crowd dancing and asking for more.
Presented by edgy local label Musique Risquée, the event will be the perfect opportunity for electronic heads to discover one of the leaders of the genre, Berlin-based Bruno Pronsato. His recent releases have been described has weird amalgams of sexy yet abstract beats that are slightly off-kilter, with organic layers to boot. Unknown to some fans, he grew up in Seattle, pounding the skins for some grunge-punk bands, which have proven to be the root of his energetic DJ performances. His 2008 effort Why can’t we be like us has received substantial praise from international DJ press.
Alongside Pronsato, Lemieux – a fixture of the Montreal DJ scene and well-respected programmer for MUTEK – will warm up the crowd with his own hard-hitting, innovative concoctions.
