In business for over ten years, Video Latino is an endearing hangout you’ll want to pay return visits to, either for its family owned spirit or the sheer exoticism of it all. The festive space is fully decked out with Latin movie star posters plastered on the walls, right above shelves stacked with DVDs from countries like Mexico, Argentina and Spain. As I browsed the extensive film and music selection, uplifting Mexican mariachi music served as my soundtrack, forcing me to keep my hips in check. I was informed by the Salvadoran madre -who runs this one-stop Latin shop with her children– that music was of the essence. Whether it be música romántica, bachata, salsa or reggaeton, Video Latino is all about that spicy Latin flavour.
