Leave it to Benelux busy bee Tom Verhoeven, a.k.a. DJ Fader, to launch a niche record label devoted to deep techno, house and minimal pursuits and drop release #25 just four years in. With this expansive two-disc compilation, Ghent-based Curle Recordings treats us to a collection of its best tracks thus far on CD 1 – think shuffling, patriotic house with Berliner Efdemin’s “America” or spacey funk with a Soulphiction remix of Thomas Brinkmann’s classic “Isch.” CD 2 finds three artists – including a clearly inspired Peter Van Hoesen and Fader himself – tapping into the label’s repertoire.
