Critiques CD: Delicate Steve | Wonder Visions

The Steve we are talking about here is wunder-kid Steve Marion, a producer, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and arranger of sounds wonderful, wild and free. What he does is make wildly eclectic music on his own, impressive enough to catch the ear of David Byrne’s Luaka Bop imprint and convince them to release this debut. Largely without words, the songs are built around serious acoustic and electric guitar acrobatics and world-themed percussions, and run the gamut from e-z breezy hippie jams, to Lighting-Bolt-on-Paxil runarounds, to far-out six-string drones, to West African flavoured groovers.
