Kicking things off this week are highly anticipated concerts going head-to-head. September 4th sees local artistes Esmerine launching their brilliant new record «Dalmak» at La Sala Rossa, while down the street at SAT, Dirty Beaches return to their once home in support of their jaw-dropping two disc set «Drifters/Love Is The Devil». Thurston Moore brings his «Chelsea Light Moving train» to town for the first time September 16th, the same night Ernest Greene debuts his «Washed Out project» at Corona and fiery rock goddess Scout Niblett presents songs from her new album «It’s Up to Emma» at Casa del Popolo.
October 7thsees rock and roll bad boy Hanni El Khatib give it in support of his new platter «Head in the Dirt» at Sala, where AroaRa launch «In The Pines» October 16th. Cutesy electro trio Au Revoir Simone return October 19th at Le Belmont, Disappears bring their minimal angularity to Il Motore October 24th, and true Montreal madman King Khan limps back home October 27th at La Tulipe with a new record in tow – «Idle No More».
Legendary weirdos Sparks land November 1st at le National, and finally on November 5th sad boy Lou Barlow shows off Sebadoh’s excellent new record «Defend Yourself» at il Motore.
