In typical Death Grips fashion, as we have come to love and crave, the Sacramento trio dropped this new release unexpectedly on fans a few weeks back for free via a posting on their Facebook site. Known as much for their shock-and-awe attitude as for their hard-cored music, vocalist Stefan Burnett, drummer Zac Hill, and producer Andy Morin (keyboards and programming) hit the ground running with the in-your-face blare of ‘You might think he loves you for your money but I know what he really loves you for it's your brand new leopard skin pillbox hat’, a track that perfectly encapsulates the band’s angry, pulsing, edgy, and dangerous hybrid, of rock, rap, and electronics. Through eleven songs the trio does not take the pedal off the metal from start to finish, bringing their sound along for the ride and further stretching things out into weirdo, experimental territory, while expanding their sonic palette into boss new directions.
